Firstly, Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian Friends, Family and Watchers <3
I have so much to be thankful for this year; Exactly one week ago, on
October 5th, 2oo9 at 10:49am my son Kieran was born! One day after his due date. He was 7lbs 1oz and 51cm at birth.
More Photos Here: [link] The Story: I started having contractions between 2 and 3am and at about 5 I woke my Mum up. We arrived at the hospital just after 6. I had a fairly fast labour, which caught the nursing staff off guard. They expected me to take a while, especially being a first time mother. When I arrived, I was dilated to 1cm. You have to get to 10. The nurse said that most first time mothers average 1cm an hour, and then have 2 hours of pushing. After one hour I was at 2-3cm, and the next hour I was at 8cm. T'was crazy~ I was happy though, I was having my contractions 3-2-1 minutes apart and didn't really have any 'recovery' time in between, and with the back labour pain I think 12 hours might have killed me x_X;;
After 40 minutes of pushing, they performed an Episiotomy (Ouch T_T ) and used a vacuum to aide the delivery, because during every contraction, the baby's heart rate kept dropping quite low. For this reason too, they were making me wear an oxygen mask (which kept freaking me out since it made me feel horribly claustrophobic). In the end though, everything was fine.
As some of you know, My husband ~
Killed-Dreams had to report to his first duty station at Fort Drum, NY. He had to spend the week prior to Kieran's birth in processing and we were praying he would make it back in time to see him born. He boarded a bus in Watertown on the evening of the 4th and sadly, missed the birth the next morning by hours. But that afternoon, he was holding his son in his arms and for the first time, our new family was together and complete. <3
Kieran spent his second night under the lights in the nursery, but the third he was back with me. And on Thursday the 8th, we were discharged and we all made our home from the hospital. Tired, but happy to be home.
Kieran: "Hello World!"Despite all the fears I had, I'm completely and utterly in love. It feels as if he's always belonged in my arms, like he was missing and I just never knew it until now. He's the most precious thing in the world and I'm so proud of him <3
So far, I love being a Mummy <3
I'll edit this later to add a little more and to include some pictures, but for now, I'm going to enjoy my dinner~ Happy Thanksgiving and God Bless!
Much Love,
Erinn Caitlin
xoxoxo

I don't come across it often. When I do they usually spell it with a "C"

In sooth, I know not why I am so sad.
It wearies me; you say it wearies you -
But how I caught it, found it, or came by it,
What stuff 'tis made of, whereof it is born,
I am to learn
